BIO
I grew up in Illinois, and moved to the Twin Cities in 2001 to attend Macalester College where I studied jazz and classical piano, musicology, and composition. After graduating in 2005, I furthered my piano studies by studying gospel music with Rev. Carl Walker of Walker West Music Academy in St. Paul, and eventually went on to attain a Master's of Arts in Teaching and a licensure in K-12 Music from University of St. Thomas in 2014.
I have been making music as a keyboardist with many different groups over the years including Orange Mighty Trio, Wild Lyre, Over/Under, House on Fire Band, The Real Chuck NORAD, Current Physique, and many more. I also produce electronic music and arrange and write music for all types of ensembles. I am currently the chair of the music department at St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, and music director of First Unitarian Society in Minneapolis. Aside from this work, I spend my days enjoying all Minnesota has to offer with my partner, Molly and our two children.
